How to use this calculator
- Enter up to three shift rows with clock-in, clock-out, and unpaid break values.
- Leave unused rows empty rather than inventing placeholder times.
- Review every issue shown in the result summary.
- Correct the source timesheet and verify the final record with the worker, manager, or payroll system.
Input guide
Shift rows
Each complete row needs both a start and end time; overnight shifts are supported.
Unpaid breaks
Break minutes are checked against the corresponding shift duration and deducted from audited paid time.
How this calculator works
The audit validates completeness, compares intervals for duplicates and overlaps, checks break duration, and flags shifts longer than 16 hours.
Worked example
Two identical 09:00–17:00 rows are flagged as duplicates; a 09:00–17:00 row and a 16:00–20:00 row are flagged as overlapping.
How to interpret the result
An issue count of zero means only that the supported automated checks found nothing suspicious. It is not proof that the record is complete, authorized, lawful, or approved. Every warning should be investigated against the original record.
Rounding policy
Audit precision
Punches are checked at minute precision; no rounding is applied.
Assumptions and limitations
- Overnight shifts are allowed.
- A long-shift warning begins above 16 hours.
- Only the three entered rows are audited.
Frequently asked questions
Does a clean result prove the timesheet is correct?
No. It only means the supported checks found no issue.
Can this detect overlapping shifts?
Yes, complete entered shifts are compared for overlap.
Why is a shift longer than 16 hours flagged?
It is an unusual-duration review threshold, not a legal conclusion.
Does the audit change my entries?
No. It only analyzes the values currently entered in the browser.
